The total number of factories that are still under construction in the Kingdom by the end of the first quarter of this year are 943 factories with capital amounting to about 47.9 billion riyals.
According to a report issued by the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources that AlEqtisadiah had the chance to read it, these factories are divided into three categories: national, joint and foreign, as the number of national factories were about 840 factories with capital up to 23.67 billion riyals.
The joint are about 50 factories with capital up to about 23.48 billion riyals, while the foreign are about 53 factories with capital of 773 million riyals.
According to regions, the number of factories in the Riyadh region amounted to 453 factories with a capital of 12.26 billion riyals, the number in the Mecca area were 135 factories with a capital of 10.37 billion riyals, while in the Eastern region reached 90 factories with a capital of 7.44 billion riyals and Jizan with 41 factories with capital of 9.97 billion riyals.
The area of Medina reached the capital of the factories in which are still under construction of 5.4 billion riyals with a number of 55 factories.
While in Hail, the number of factories with 22 capital amounted to 847.6 million riyals and Qassim has 32 factories with capital of SR 559.9 million.
Tabuk region has 12 factories with a capital of 300 million riyals, Asir has 45 factories with capital of SR 221 million and the 25 factories with capital of 188 million riyals,
While the Northern Border area has ten factories with capital of 143.6 million riyals and Baha has nine factories with capital of 116 million riyals and Najran has 14 factories with capital of 71.8 million riyals.
According to the report, the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources considered the first Riyadh region as the first as the counted number of factories were about 48% of the total factories under construction in the Kingdom, followed by Makkah region by 14.3 per cent, the Eastern Province by 9.5 per cent, Medina by 5.8 per cent, Asir with 4.8 per cent and the rest is 17.5 per cent.
At the capital level, the Riyadh region accounts for 25.6 per cent, followed by Mecca by 21.7 per cent, Jizan with 20.8 per cent, the Eastern Region by 15.5 per cent, then Medina by 11.3 per cent and other regions by 5.1 per cent
